Cichanoŭskaja discusses assistance to Belarusians with Google, Meta

September 27, BPN. Belarusian opposition leader Sviatłana Cichanoŭskaja discussed assistance to Belarusians with managers of Google, Meta, and Microsoft last week during her stay in New York, her aide Franak Viačorka said in his Telegram channel.

The politician met Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Vice President Karan Bhatia, Meta’s President for Global Affairs Nick Clegg, as well as management of Microsoft defending democracy program, urging the tech giants to pay more attention to Belarus.

The sides agreed to focus on assistance to independent media, bloggers, verification of media and public activists’ accounts, support of the Belarusian language content and access to cloud services for a “digital Belarus” project, Viačorka said.
