December 21, BPN. Belarusian authorities have introduced temporary restrictions on visiting forests in Łojeŭ, Brahin, and Chojniki districts of the Homiel region bordering on Ukraine.
The government directive dated December 19 allows local residents and persons performing work duties to access the forests.
Border authorities may issue permits to visit these areas in “exceptional cases.”
On November 30, Belarusian border authorities extended restrictions on visiting the border areas in the Homiel region, in force since June 1, until March 1, 2023 “to ensure border security.”
