Defense ministry says Russia supplied anti-aircraft systems to Belarus

December 23, BPN. Another batch of Tor-M2K short-range surface-to-air missile systems has arrived in Belarus from Russia and will be delivered to military units in the coming days, the Belarusian defense ministry’s Telegram channel reported.

Belarus has received weapons from Russia under bilateral agreements, Leanid Kasinski, the ministry’s ideology chief, told STV.

The missile systems are “an effective means for destroying various types of air targets, both high-speed and low-speed at rather a wide range of altitudes,” he noted.

Earlier reports said that Belarus’ five existing Tor-M2K battalions are currently stationed to protect the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant.
