December 30, BPN. The Belarusian interior ministry has added 29 people to the list of “persons involved in extremist activities,” taking the total to 2,263.
The updated list includes many people considered political prisoners by human rights groups, among them Alena Malinoŭskaja, Lilija Ananian, and Anatol Łatuška, a cousin of prominent opposition politician Pavieł Łatuška.
A court in Minsk sentenced Anatol Łatuška to six years in prison; Malinoŭskaja, to four years; Ananian, to five years. Charges against them ranged from participation in protests to hooliganism and desecration of state symbols.
