January 6, BPN. The Belarusian interior ministry has added 18 more people to its list of “persons involved in extremist activity.”
The ministry’s website indicates that it was updated mainly with citizens convicted under the Criminal Code’s “political” articles against disturbing public order or insulting Alaksandr Łukašenka and public officials.
Among them are rock musician Siarhiej Daliviela and doctor Taćciana Tałočka, declared political prisoners by human rights activists, as well as Orša man Valer Kuleša, who allegedly insulted a policeman. A judge has dismissed his case, citing the statute of limitations.
The updated list contains 2,281 names.
