Missile brigade in Fanipal gets Russian missile systems

January 13, BPN. Servicepeople of the 15th antiaircraft missile brigade in Fanipal, Minsk region, have received new Russian hardware, the Belarusian defense ministry reports.

It is the Tor-M2K air defense missile systems delivered to the republic last December. The hardware was handed over by Andrej Łukjanovič, the commander of Belarus’ Air/Air Defense Force.

“Tor-M2K is capable of destroying all targets,” Łukjanovič said. “It can shoot at four targets, closing altitudes up to 10,000 m, [downing] drones and aircraft flying at a speed of up to 700 m/sec. It is capable of protecting all state and military facilities and covering the airspace above them.”

During the handover ceremony, Łukjanovič announced plans to get even more new weapons: a Pantsir missile system and domestically produced Rosa-RB low-altitude radars. The Air Force would receive Russian-made Su-30SM aircraft and Mi-35M helicopters.
