January 31, BPN. The Minsk City Court has upheld the guilty verdict against the United Civic Party (UCP) leaders, the UCP press office reported.
In early November 2022, a district judge in Minsk sentenced UCP Chair Mikałaj Kazłoŭ to two and a half years in prison. UCP Minsk chapter head Aksana Alaksiejeva was sentenced to 18 months in prison, and a former deputy chair, Antanina Kavalova, to one year.
Authorities accused them of participating in 2020 protests. At least 13 UCP members are behind bars.
