Belarusian military doctors to go to Syria on earthquake relief mission

February 14, BPN. Forty-five members of a Belarusian military medical unit will go to Syria to help earthquake victims, the defense ministry’s press office said.

Belarusian doctors plan to deploy a military field hospital with several units including surgery and intensive care, said its commander Andrej Hurynovič.

The team will include surgeons, physicians, anesthesiologists and intensive care doctors, he added.

Two days ago, Belarus sent humanitarian aid to Syria in response to the February 6 earthquake that affected Turkey and Syria. The death toll is estimated at 37,500, including about 6,000 Syrians.
