Head of Investigative Committee for Minsk dismissed over illness

February 14, BPN. Alaksandr Łukašenka has dismissed Siarhiej Pasko from his post as Head of the Investigative Committee for Minsk.

Pasko, 48, who rose to the rank of Major General of Justice, was dismissed “due to illness” with the right to wear uniform and insignia, Łukašenka’s press office reported.

From July 2020 to September 2021, the Investigative Committee in Minsk opened more than 1,600 criminal cases against protesters opposing voter fraud. Commenting on reports of police brutality, Pasko said no unjustified use of force incidents were revealed.
