Government issues foreign travel rules for officials

November 22, Pozirk. Public officials with state secret clearance must obtain approval from their bosses for foreign travel, except for business trips, under the Council of Ministers’ Directive No 786 published on the National Legal Internet Portal.
For instance, Prime Minister Raman Haloŭčanka will authorize travel for his deputies and ministers, while the Council of Republic’s head Natalla Kačanava will do the same for senators and heads of regional councils of deputies.
The heads of the Central Election Commission, the national statistics service, Alaksandar Łukašenka’s administration, as well as deputy chairs and judges of the Constitutional, Supreme, Minsk City, regional courts and economic courts, are among those who need approval for personal foreign trips.
City and district executive committees’ heads and employees also need to coordinate their travel plans with their superiors.
Officials need to submit corresponding requests 10 days before the trip, specifying the destination and transit countries, purpose, addresses and contacts.
