Ukrainian general says Belarus as much an enemy as Russia

October 26, Pozirk. Ukraine is equally serious about strengthening its border with Belarus and the one with Russia, Ukraine’s Joint Forces Commander Serhiy Nayev said on Telegram.

“We are working on placing more mine-explosive barriers along the whole state border in the northern operational sector,” he said. “It makes no difference whether it is the border with Belarus or with Russia, both are our enemies. That is why we densely mine our border wherever there is a threat of an enemy attack.”

He added that Ukrainian troops should protect every mine-explosive barrier and minefield from the enemy’s combat engineer units.

Earlier this week, Nayev said the Ukrainians had planted 500,000 mines along the border with Belarus.
