Minsk designates media projects as “extremist groups”
June 25, Pozirk. The Committee for State Security (KGB) on June 18 designated an NGO, a military-patriotic club and two media projects as “extremist groups.”
The designations were announced on the interior ministry’s website today.
They are the Ukraine-based NGO Biloruś 2.0 Robimo Razam, the Lithuania-based military-patriotic club Litviny, and the media projects Media IQ and Obychnoye Utro, a Youtube morning show hosted by journalists who worked for the Unistar radio station in Belarus and later fled abroad fearing reprisals.
According to the KGB, the following people are associated with these organizations: Siarhiej Bulba (Čysłaŭ), Taćciana Martynava, Vasil Vieramiejčyk, Michaił Kučaraŭ, Andrej Kušnieraŭ, Pavieł Šarapin, Siarhiej Jurčanka, Volha Paškievič, Iosif Duleba (Biloruś 2.0 Robimo Razam); Siarhiej Šałyhin, Siarhiej Barodzič, Michaił Mackievič, Alaksandar Kłačko, Alaksandra Pucykovič, Siarhiej Čapieha (Litviny); Nadzieja Biełachvościk, Alaksiej Chudanaŭ, Darja Hłuchava, Pavieł Bykoŭski, Alena Vieraščahina, Anton Sajfułajeŭ, Palina Piatkievič, Alaksiej Šuntaŭ, Ała Šarko, Viktar Mališeŭski (Media IQ); Kanstancin Misuna (Kavieryn), Ludmiła Łabunskaja (Miłasłaŭskaja) (Obychnoye Utro).
As of June 25, the list of “extremist groups” contains 222 entries.
