Belarusian major general blames neighboring states for territorial ambitions

August 21, BPN. High-standing Belarusian military ideologist Leanid Kasinski told an “antifascist” congress in Russia on August 20 that neighboring states have Belarusian territories in their sights.

“The Poles do not even hide their territorial ambitions towards Belarus,” he said, adding that Vilnius views the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, a multi-ethnic state that seized to exist in the late 18th century, “as exclusively Lithuanian,” and that there is an “opinion” in Ukraine that Belarus’ Homiel and Brest regions are ethnically Ukrainian.

He said today’s Nazism is manifested in “the geopolitical appetites of our southern and western neighbors that have been turned into limitrophe states by their ruling political elites, whose decisions are not independent and whose policy is aimed at provoking the Russian Federation and Belarus with their unfriendly actions, and at inciting confrontation with us.”

The major general thanked Russia for fighting against “radical nationalism” in Ukraine.
