Łukašenka says aircraft upgraded to carry nukes
August 26, BPN. During a visit to a mechanical plant in Minsk on August 26, Alaksandr Łukašenka once again threatened the West with nuclear weapons.
Commenting on Operation Atlantic Resolve, he said in an apparent reference to NATO that “no helicopters or planes will save them if they escalate.”
According to Łukašenka, Russia has re-equipped Belarus’ Sukhoi aircraft for delivering nuclear weapons.
The military command of Belarus has defined targets, “decision-making centers” that “will be hit in the event of provocation,” the Belarusian strongman added.
On June 25, Lukašenka asked Vladimir Putin to equip Belarus’ warplanes for “a mirror response” to alleged NATO exercises near Belarus involving planes carrying nuclear bombs.
“Help us repurpose the aircraft we have (the Su-35, as I see it), which can carry nuclear bombs. I am not saying that you will bring nuclear ammunition there tomorrow, but we should not be joking,” he added.
