Belarus’ employed workforce shrinks in July – Belstat

August 26, BPN. In July, the number of people employed in the Belarusian economy decreased by 0.23 percent (9,600 people) compared to June to 4.2 million, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said.

Earlier, Belstat reported real unemployment of 3.7 percent in the second quarter of 2022, same as in the first quarter of the year, calculated by the methodology of the International Labor Organization (ILO).

Nominal gross average pay (before taxes and other mandatory payments) in Belarus increased by 1.08 percent to 1,644 rubels in July ($642 at the exchange rate on July 25 at the Belarusian Stock and Currency Exchange).

In June, average nominal pay increased by 3.37 percent to 1,626.5 rubels.
