Ukraine seizes over $3 million in Belarus-owned asphalt plant assets
September 6, BPN. Assets of three asphalt plants worth about $3.3 million belonging to Belarusian companies have been transferred to Ukraine’s Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA), the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office reported.
The companies that carried out road works in Kyiv, as well as in Ukraine’s Zhytomyr and Mykolaiv regions are under investigation into embezzlement of state budget funds with subsequent legalization and transfer abroad, and financing of actions to seize state power and change the borders of Ukraine.
On September 2, Ukrainian police reported the seizure of 390 railroad cars belonging to two Belarusian and eight Russian companies with a total worth of about $10.9 million.
In July, three locomotives of the Belarusian Railway were seized in the Kyiv region. According to the Security Service of Ukraine, they were involved in transporting Russian personnel, weapons, military equipment and logistics support to Ukraine’s northern borders. The locomotives also “participated in hostilities against the defense forces in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions,” the police said.
