First people’s militia unit set up in Mahiloŭ region, local newspaper says

September 12, BPN. The first “people’s militia” unit has been formed in the Klimavičy district, Mahiloŭ region, Rodnaja Niva, a local state-run newspaper, reported.

The unit reportedly consists of 22 villagers from the Łobža area, both male and female. On September 11, they met with Andrej Macijevič, territorial defense commander and deputy chief of the General Staff.

According to the newspaper, they were instructed about their rights and duties and shown how to use an automatic rifle.

Dźmitryj Hajnoŭski, head of the Klimavičy district’s territorial defense and chair of the district executive committee, said that people should be ready to defend their homeland with weapons in their hands, if necessary.
