KGB brands 15 as terrorists

September 16, BPN. The Committee for the State Security (KGB) has added 15 names to the list of persons involved in terrorist activities, the Viasna Human Rights Center reports.

They are: Matviej Hrankievič, Aleh Birul, Taćciana Birul, Aleh Haŭryłaŭ, Siarhiej Pasiuk, Alaksiej Šyškaviec, Siarhiej Rabcaŭ, Ila Kraŭčeŭski, Vital Žylinski, Ivan Paršyn, Jaŭhien Klimaŭ, Siarhiej Nialepka, Robert Kuźnacoŭ, Jaŭhien Lulkovič and Mikita Paleonak.

The charges against them ranged from public order disturbances and defamation against Alaksandr Łukašenka to terrorism and involvement in a foreign military conflict.

Belarusian human rights activists declared most of them political prisoners.

There are 905 people on the KGB’s “terrorist” list, mostly Belarusian nationals.
