Belarus writes to Qatar’s foreign minister about enhancing ties

September 19, BPN. A senior Belarusian diplomat sent Qatar’s foreign minister a letter on enhancing and fostering the bilateral relationship, The Peninsula reported on September 19.

Belarusian First Deputy Foreign Minister Siarhiej Alejnik passed the message to Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani through diplomatic channels in Doha.

Belarus gives considerable attention to cooperation with the Arab country, Alaksandr Łukašenka said in December 2021, noting that the friendly and respectful relationship would see development in all areas.

Belarus would redirect the exports it lost due to Western sanctions to other markets, including the Persian Gulf, Belarusian Prime Minister Raman Hałoŭčanka said in May 2022.
