UEFA to separate Belarusian, Ukrainian teams for Euro 2024 qualifiers

September 21, BPN. The Union of the European Football Associations (UEFA) will draw the national soccer teams of Belarus and Ukraine in different groups for Euro 2024 qualifiers, the UEFA executive committee ruled at its September 20 meeting in Hvar, Croatia.

UEFA cited Belarus’ role in Russia’s war against Ukraine and also banned the Russian team due to the suspension of all Russian teams from UEFA competitions in force since February.

Fifty-three national teams, divided in ten groups, will play in Euro 2024 qualification tournament scheduled between March 2023 and March 2024. The draw will take place on October 9, 2022 in Frankfurt am Main. Germany will host Euro 2024 from June 14 to July 14, 2024.
