July 13, BPN. Russia and Belarus will not receive official invitations for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 when the invitations are sent on July 26, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has said.
“The IOC will take this decision at the appropriate time, at its full discretion, and without being bound by the results of previous Olympic qualification competitions,” it stressed.
The invitations will be sent to the 203 eligible National Olympic Committes.
On March 28, the IOC executive board recommended that athletes with a Russian or Belarusian passport may compete only as individual neutral athletes, while athletes who actively support the war cannot compete.
