December 26, Pozirk. Siarhiej Malinoŭski, the Belarusian Ambassador to Serbia, presented copies of his credentials to Suzana Bošković-Prodanović of Serbia’s foreign ministry on December 25, the Belarusian foreign ministry’s press office reported.

The diplomats discussed “the current state and prospects of bilateral relations,” political dialogue, trade and economic ties, it noted.

Malinoŭski and Bošković-Prodanović reportedly confirmed their mutual interest in stronger Belarusian-Serbian ties.

The meeting came days after the December 17 early elections for the Serbian National Assembly.

The ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SPS) won, according to the official data, but the opposition accused the SPS and its co-founder President Aleksandar Vučić of fraud, including ballot stuffing and vote buying.

Serbian police have made dozens of arrests during the postelection protests.

Belarusian propaganda Telegram channels urged Belgrade to use the experience of Belarusian authorities in suppressing protests.
