EU responds to Łukašenka’s war remark

April 2, Pozirk. The European Union is not waging a war but is preparing to counter threats from Belarus and Russia, EU foreign affairs spokesman Peter Stano said today.
Euobserver quoted him as calling Alaksandar Łukašenka an impostor who stole the elections and an accomplice in the crimes committed by Russia against Ukraine.
“We are working on making Europe best equipped to face all the threats that are coming from people like Łukašenka or Putin,” the Stano said.
The EU is feared only by those who despise democracy, human rights and international law, he said.
Visiting Hrodna earlier today, Łukašenka said: “We are gearing up for war, I am being honest.” “If you want peace, prepare for war. I did not make it up. It is a very correct saying,” he said.
However, he insisted that Belarus did not threaten anyone. “We do not want other’s land,” he said. “May God let us cultivate this [land of ours].”
