Russia revokes comedian Kamisaranka’s citizenship

April 23, Pozirk. Russian authorities have satisfied the request by the Federal Security Service (FSB) to denaturalize stand-up comedians Viačasłaŭ Kamisaranka and Dmitri Romanov and ban both from entering Russia, the FSB press office reported.
Minsk-born Kamisaranka is on the interstate wanted list on suspicion of defaming Alaksandar Łukašenka, the FSB said, noting that his statements also pose threats to Russia’s national security.
Last year, the Minsk City Court sentenced Kamisaranka to six years in prison without him being present at the trial for his jokes about Łukašenka.
Earlier this year, officials in Belarus branded him an extremist and terrorist.
Romanov was born in Ukraine’s Odesa.
