Two years in prison for popular TikToker
August 22, BPN. A sentence has been determined for Babrujsk TikToker Andrej Bialaŭski, the Babrujsk Online Telegram channel, Mahiloŭ region, reports.
Judge Anton Dudal sentenced the 45-year-old man to two years in prison in a criminal case on insulting Alaksandr Łukašenka. The closed-door trial, which began in the morning of August 22, lasted only a few hours.
The arrest of Bialaŭski, known as Anbrei, was revealed on April 25. The security forces also detained his minor son, who was later released and taken into the care of his grandparents.
Bialaŭski’s TikTok videos focused on socio-political issues. He had 107,000 subscribers at the time of his arrest.
Human rights activists say his persecution is politically motivated.
