Kalinoŭski regiment joined by anti-authoritarian fighters

August 23, BPN. A group of Belarusian volunteers who previously fought in the Ukrainian territorial defense’s Anti-Authoritarian Detachment has joined the Kastuś Kalinoŭski Regiment.

“The detachment has been taking part in combat operations from the first days of the full-scale war,” the regiment’s press service said. “The concept that Belarus can be liberated through the liberation of Ukraine has become the unifying factor that has led the Anti-Authoritarian Detachment’s volunteers to the Kalinoŭski regiment.”

The regiment was formed in Ukraine in March 2022, initially as a battalion. It consists of Belarusian enlistees.

Kastuś Kalinoŭski (Konstanty Kalinowski) was the leader of the 1863 uprising against Russian rule in the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
