Ukrainian defense ministry wishes Łukašenka to reunite with Hussein, Gaddafi
August 26, BPN. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has reacted to Alaksandr Łukašenka’s Independence Day greetings to the Ukrainian people.
“On our Independence Day, the dictator Łukašenka congratulated Ukraine and wished us a peaceful sky… as a ‘gift’ missiles were again fired from Belarus to Ukraine. We wish Łukašenka the same peaceful sky… and reunification with his good friends Hussein & Gaddafi,” it tweeted.
The ousted Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was executed on December 30, 2006 after trial. Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi was killed by militia on October 20, 2011. Both went down in history as dictators. Łukašenka called them his “teachers.”
On August 24, in a congratulatory message to the Ukrainian people on the occasion of Independence Day, Łukašenka, a clear supporter of Russian aggression against the sovereign state, wished it “peaceful skies, tolerance, courage, strength and success in restoring a decent life.”
The message sparked a backlash in Kyiv, with MP Oleksiy Honcharenko writing on Telegram: “On Ukraine’s next Independence Day, Łukašenka will hang on a [lamp] post, and the Belarusian people will be free and live in a democratic state.”
Mykhaylo Podolyak, an advisor to the Ukrainian presidential office who lived in Belarus for 15 years before his deportation in 2004, said: “It seems that Łukašenka really believes that the world does not notice his active participation in crimes against UA. Here is why, launching deadly missiles at us, he cynically wishes us a ‘peaceful sky.’”
“This blood-soaked clownery has been recorded and will have concrete consequences, right after the fall of the barbarian ru-empire,” he added.
