Belarus reports lowest unemployment in Russian-led economic union in July
September 2, BPN. The number of unemployed registered with employment services in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states rose by 15,200 since the end of June to 1,041,800 at the end of July, according to the Eurasian Economic Commission’s (EEC) statistics department.
Belarus posted the lowest unemployment rate of 0.2 percent (6,900 people). Unemployment is at 0.9 percent (677,800 people) in Russia; at 2.5 percent (229,100) in Kazakhstan; at 2.8 percent (76,000) in Kyrgyzstan; at 4.1 percent (52,000) in Armenia.
According to the National Statistics Committee (Belstat), 4,197,200 people were employed in the country’s economy in June this year, and 4,206,800 a month earlier. Thus, the country’s workforce shrunk by 9,600 in July.
