September 8, BPN. Andrej Hałavyryn, opposition activist from Navapołatsk, Viciebsk region, was released in late August after spending 75 days in jail, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.
Hałavyryn was arrested on June 15 and sentenced to 15 days in jail for disseminating content branded by authorities extremist.
Later, Judge Zinaida Bałabołava tried the activist on the same charges four times in a row, jailing him for 15 days each time.
Hałavyryn had a hypertensive crisis in detention.
