Cichanoŭskaja meets Lithuanian parliamentary opposition

September 14, BPN. Belarusian opposition leader Sviatłana Cichanoŭskaja discussed possible new activities of the Lithuanian parliamentary group For Democratic Belarus with MPs from the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania.

The party is in opposition to the ruling coalition and holds 12 out of 141 seats in the Seimas.

Cichanoŭskaja informed the MPs about recent politically-motivated verdicts in Belarus and volunteers who fight Russia in Ukraine, reported Parlamentskiy Kanal, a news channel in the Telegram messenger application administered by Belarusian opposition activists.

She urged Lithuanian MPs to support Belarusian parties and trade unions victimized by the authorities.

Cichanoŭskaja also presented her idea of internships for young Belarusians in the Lithuanian parliament.
