Protestant pastor fined and freed

September 20, BPN. A judge in Minsk has fined protestant pastor Viačasłaŭ Hančarenka 3,200 rubels, or some $1,300, presumably for organizing an unauthorized meeting.

In a video posted by his New Life Church on Telegram, Hančarenka says the trial was held at a police station, where he had been summoned in the morning.

New Life Church parishioners have met every Sunday at a car park after authorities evicted the congregation from its building in February 2021.
