Warsaw appoints special envoy for Belarusian pro-democracy forces

November 21, Pozirk. The Polish foreign ministry has appointed Ambassador Adam Hałaciński as special envoy for the Belarusian pro-democracy forces, the press office of Belarusian opposition politician Pavieł Łatuška reported.
The leader of the National Anti-Crisis Management expressed hope that the “fruitful cooperation” that began when Hałaciński served at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe will continue.
“This important decision by the Polish foreign ministry demonstrates the continuity of the activities launched by Ambassador Artur Michalski, the Polish foreign ministry’s special representative for cooperation with Belarusian democratic forces, and our Polish partners’ stable support for the democratic forces of Belarus,” Łatuška said.
According to him, the appointment represents Poland’s unwavering support for Belarusians’ aspirations for democratic change.
Hałaciński said he was honored by the appointment and thanked his predecessor Michalski.
Michalski, formerly ambassador to Belarus, was appointed special envoy for the Belarusian pro-democracy forces on September 12, 2023.
