October 24, Pozirk. The Belarusian Armed Forces have launched operational command post exercises, the defense ministry said on Telegram.

The drill involves military administration heads, formations commanders, and other officers, it said.

They learn the specifics of logistical support, special forces actions, security systems, etc. One of the goals is to “work out unified approaches to the training of officials from military administrations and troops.”

Defense Minister Viktar Chrenin said it was the right decision to organize the exercises in garrison, adding that this practice “will be continued.”

“All our daily activities are directly linked to combat and mobilization readiness. And the leaders of the Armed Forces should show in practice how specific military units should be used,” the minister said.

According to the Western Operational Command deputy commander, Dźmitryj Bitny, the participants will learn “new ways to train personnel,” which they will later “incorporate into the combat training system.” He noted that Belarusian soldiers are being guided by Russia’s experience in Ukraine, absorbing “relevant tactical methods.”

“First of all, these are assault on strongholds, delivery of fire, including from infantry fighting vehicles and closed firing positions, and individual training on self-organization and autonomy,” Bitny said.

Authorities in Minsk support Russia, which started the full-scale war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, but emphasize that the Belarusian army is not involved in the fighting. However, the Russian army has used Belarusian territory for attacks against Ukraine.
